"Though the Bible was written over sixteen centuries, by at least forty authors, it has one central theme--salvation through faith in Christ."
-Max Lucado
Salvation - the act of saving; preservation from destruction, danger or great calamity. (1828 Noah Webster Dictionary) Our lives are filled with choices each and every day. Some choices are very simple while others are very difficult. The greatest choice that anyone will ever make is the choice of denying Christ as their Savior or accepting Him, by faith, as their Savior. Without accepting Christ as your Savior there is destruction. Accepting Christ as your Savior, and asking Him to forgive you of your sins, leads to preservation from destruction. Is Christ your Savior? If the answer is no, I encourage you to make Him Savior of your life before it is too late!
In order for one to be saved they must realize they are a sinner. Romans 3:23 tells us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Each and everyone of us are sinners; none are excluded.
We must understand the penalty of sin. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” I am glad for the ending of this verse! There is a penalty for sin, BUT that penalty has already been paid. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. -Romans 10:13
