Have you ever looked at the stars on a clear night and marveled at their beauty? What about a beautiful full moon, sunrise, or sunset that you can’t help but think was painted because it looks so delicate and beautiful? I am always in awe of how God has created such a wonderful masterpiece that we get to enjoy each and every day. It reminds me of some of my favorite Scriptures.
“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?”
-Psalm 8:3-4
The same God that created the gorgeous sunsets, stars, and other things we enjoy is mindful of us. The word mindful means to be attentive, regarding with care, bearing in mind, needful, or observant. When I think of people I am mindful of, I think of Colt; I am attentive to him, I care for him, he is always on my mind, and I am observant of his needs and wants. But how much more is our Savior mindful of us? What an honor and humbling thought to know that the Creator of all the universe bears us in His mind! Whenever I feel defeated or discouraged, I am thankful that I can remind myself that the Lord is mindful of and cares for me! Not only is He mindful of us, but if you look back in verse 4, it says he visits us. Those times that the Holy Spirit meets with us, whether in a church service, Bible study, prayer time, or just riding down the road, prove He visits us. May we never take for granted that the Creator of all the earth, the One who bore our sins, visits us. He is present on the mountain and in the valley...He is the same unchanging God! Whenever you’re feeling discouraged, or if you just need to remind yourself of how much God loves His children, remind yourself that the same God who created the vast array of things we enjoy each and every day is mindful of us, and He visits us!
