“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,” Romans 12:2

Conform– to be or become similar in form, nature, or character; to act in accord with the prevailing standards, attitudes, practices, etc…

Here the Bible warns us not to become as this world is.

Transformed– to change into another form.

Here the Bible instructs us to be changed, and we do that by renewing our minds. Last week, we began an acrostic of the word "renew," and we will conclude that today.

Refreshing our minds with new perspectives.

Embark on fresh beginnings with purpose.

Nourish the mind through God's Word.

Nourish– to strengthen, build up;

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105

The Word of God will keep our minds renewed. In the darkest times of my life, I have always been able to find strength and encouragement from my Bible. Regular study of God’s Word gives us the truth we need to keep our minds strong and focused.

Earnestly ask God to help you.

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1 John 4:14

The Bible also says that God is not the author of confusion. If we earnestly ask God to renew our minds and keep us focused on Him, then there is no doubt He will do that for us!

Worship Him every day.

When we wake up each day, we should take a minute to thank the Lord for His blessings in our lives. It is easy to look at everything that's “wrong” and forget about how much God has blessed us.

Take a few minutes today and think about all the blessings we have, and I promise you it will help “renew” your mind!
